History/Background:
Minyi Tang is a world citizen who has brought to Pac-link
extensive experience in both the financial and technology industries.
Most recently, Tang was the General Manager of SVB Business Partners
(Silicon Valley Bank’s China operation), which she helped
establish. In this role, Tang built and led a team, and worked closely
with US, European and Chinese venture capitalists and technology
companies.
Prior to joining
SVB, Tang worked for Bay Partners, a Silicon Valley based venture capital firm,
where she focused on communications and semiconductor investments, and
initiated the firm’s China strategy.
Tang also served as
a Senior Equities Analyst at Firsthand Capital Management, where she
spearheaded Firsthand’s venture investments in communications,
covered public technology companies, and promoted technology
investments in public forums.
Tang began her
career with Nortel Networks as a designer, systems architect, senior
network analyst and then technical marketing manager, spanning areas
such as intelligent networks, packet telephony, routers, and optical
networks.
Tang earned a
bachelor’s degree summa cum laude in electrical and computer
engineering and an MBA with a specialization in finance and
international business management from the University of Ottawa,
Canada. She has received
various distinguished honors including the Canadian Governor
General’s Award.
