Oplink almost jumps double after IPO

10/4--Oplink Communications, Inc. (Nasdaq: OPLK) announced the pricing of its initial public offering of 13,700,000 shares of its common stock at a price of $18.00 per share.

Shares ended the day at $33-5/8, up $15-5/8 from their IPO price. The stock hit a high of $36 during the session.

Oplink is a provider of fiber optic components and integrated optical modules that increase the performance of optical networks. Its customers include Cisco, JDS Uniphase and Lucent.

It posted revenues of $39 million for the fiscal year ended June 30, versus a revenues of $9.1 million a year ago.
